The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has established a strict final deadline for applicants to resolve any deficiencies in their submissions for the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) session scheduled in October 2026. According to the board’s notice, any incomplete applications or unresolved errors that remain unaddressed by October 21, 2026 (11:55 PM) will automatically disqualify candidates from taking the exam. They must use the Document Scrutiny Portal, which becomes visible only to those flagged for outstanding requirements, to submit missing documents through their applicant login on the NBEMS website. This portal is exclusively accessible to candidates identified with deficiencies, as per clause 2.9.3 and 8.31 of the Information Bulletin for FMGE October 2026.

A separate correction window for uploading images-such as photographs, signatures, or thumb impressions-was initially provided from October 3 to October 19, 2026, but the board has now extended the deadline for all corrections, including images, until October 21, 2026 (11:55 PM). Applicants must ensure their uploaded images strictly comply with the Image Upload Instructions, as non-compliance will result in immediate rejection of their application.

Pursuant to the closure of the edit window on 30.09.2026, candidates whose images were found deficient during scrutiny through the Image Scrutiny Portal were notified via email or their applicant login dashboard. These candidates were granted a selective edit window from 03-10-2026 to 19-10-2026 to rectify their images, as outlined in clause 8.30 of Chapter 8. Failure to submit images in accordance with the guidelines and/or failure to rectify the incorrect images shall lead to the rejection of the application

Test cities for the examination will be announced exclusively via email on October 20, 2026, and candidates can confirm their assigned locations by logging into the NBEMS portal. Test city allocated shall not be intimated through email/SMS to individual candidates. This communication is governed by the Information Bulletin’s clause stating that the test city allocation will be intimated solely via email, and candidates must verify their details through their applicant login.

only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear in the FMGE who have both the Eligibility Certificate (if applicable) and the Provisional Pass Certificate/Degree Certificate of Primary Medical Qualification. These requirements have been mandated by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) as part of the approval process for participation.
